This Christian Conduct Policy establishes a framework of biblical ethics that guides our academic community in faith, scholarship, and service.

 

The Christian life is marked by faith, integrity, and love. Scripture calls believers to conduct themselves in a manner that honors God and reflects Christlike character (Colossians 3:17; Philippians 1:27). As a community, we uphold the following biblical principles:

 

• We are called to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, and mind and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39).

• We demonstrate this love through kindness, humility, and respect in all interactions, including online communication.

 

• Scripture instructs us to live with integrity and truthfulness (Proverbs 11:3; Ephesians 4:25).

• Academic honesty is essential. Plagiarism, deception, or misrepresentation in coursework or communication is strictly prohibited.

• Ethical behavior extends to all forms of professional, academic, and digital engagement.

 

• Words have the power to build up or tear down (Ephesians 4:29). We commit to: 

○ Speaking truth with grace and love (Colossians 4:6).

○ Engaging in respectful, Christ-honoring discussions.

○ Avoiding gossip, slander, or divisive speech (James 3:9-10).

○ Demonstrating civility in online forums, email correspondence, and academic discussions.

 

• We are called to work as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23).

• Excellence in academics, research, and professional development is an act of worship and stewardship.

• Students are expected to submit original work, demonstrate critical thinking, and engage in scholarly integrity.

 

Eldermont University affirms that biblical ethics provide a moral foundation for all aspects of life, including leadership, education, and professional practice.

 

• Every human being is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27).

• We reject all forms of hatred, discrimination, and devaluation of human life.

• We affirm the dignity of all people, regardless of race, gender, nationality, or background (Galatians 3:28).

 

• Eldermont University affirms biblical teachings on marriage, family, and personal integrity.

• We encourage students and faculty to live with purity, faithfulness, and self-discipline (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5).

• While we acknowledge that different Christian traditions interpret aspects of biblical morality differently, we maintain that personal holiness and godly character are essential to Christian leadership.

 

• Our students are called to lead with humility and integrity (Philippians 2:3-4).

• Leadership is not about power but about serving others with wisdom and righteousness (Mark 10:45).

• As future ministry leaders, business professionals, educators, and scholars, our graduates are expected to apply biblical principles to their vocations.

 

Christian education is more than acquiring knowledge—it is about transformation and service. Eldermont University encourages students and faculty to:

• Students and faculty should communicate professionally in all university-related platforms.

• Harassment, offensive language, or inflammatory behavior in online forums is not tolerated (Ephesians 4:31-32).

 

• Academic integrity requires that all written work, research, and materials be properly cited and credited.

• Unauthorized use or distribution of copyrighted materials or course content is strictly prohibited.

 

• Faculty, staff, and students should represent Christian character in their online presence.

• Social media interactions should reflect honesty, respect, and Christlike love.

 

• We are called to continually grow in wisdom and knowledge (Proverbs 4:7).

• Eldermont University fosters an environment of continuous learning, professional development, and biblical scholarship.
