Eldermont University is a faith-based, independent religious institution authorized to operate under Florida Statute 1005.06(1)(f) and
recognized by the Florida Department of Education – Commission for Independent Education (CIE). As a religious institution, Eldermont
University is exempt from state licensure requirements and is legally authorized to grant degrees in accordance with its mission.
While Eldermont University does not hold regional or national accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) or the
Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), it operates in compliance with all applicable Florida education laws and is pursuing
accreditation from faith-based and international accrediting bodies that align with its academic and theological objectives.
Prospective students should verify degree recognition with employers, licensing boards, or other institutions before enrollment
Degree recognition varies by employer and industry. While some private-sector employers, ministries, and international organizations
accept faith-based degrees, others—especially government agencies—may require degrees from regionally accredited institutions.
