State Authorization Disclosure
Updated: March 2025
Eldermont University is currently accepting applications to its degree programs from students who meet our admissions criteria.
As a faith-based, distance-learning institution, Eldermont University operates under Florida Statute 1005.06(1)(f), which grants religious institution authorization through the Florida Department of Education – Commission for Independent Education (CIE). Under this exemption, Eldermont is authorized to offer religious degrees exclusively for vocations in ministry, theology, Christian counseling, leadership, and related fields.
Eldermont University does not maintain any physical instructional sites outside of Florida. All academic programs are offered fully online, and students may enroll from any U.S. state or international location where such distance education is permitted.
Important Note: State laws governing distance education vary and are subject to change. While Eldermont University seeks to comply with applicable regulations, it is the responsibility of the student to ensure that enrolling in a religious distance-learning program from Eldermont aligns with their local jurisdiction’s educational, professional, or licensure requirements.
Eldermont University does not participate in federal Title IV financial aid programs, and therefore is not required to obtain authorization under state reciprocity agreements (e.g., SARA). However, we are committed to transparency and compliance and will work with students to resolve any questions related to state-specific policies.
